You can learn to paint or draw
A year later I opened a teaching studio at Craft Habitat in Richmond where I ran art classes for children and painting classes for adults, discovering that helping people to develop their creativity gave me a real buzz. It also provided a good life balance as painting is a very solitary activity. For years I worked happily on my own, but teaching has helped to bring out the extrovert in me.
In 2011 I was appointed as a lecturer at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) where I taught for 4 years in the Creative Industries Arts and Media programme. In 2015 I started teaching night classes and weekend workshops as part of the Adult Community Education (ACE) programme at NMIT which was reinstated that year.
The ACE art classes, which are run as short courses at NMIT, are subsidized for New Zealand residents and citizens, the only Community Education that is still offered at a discounted rate in the Nelson region.
I offer two drawing and three painting courses at NMIT which run each school term throughout the year, for more course information follow this link or contact me directly.
I teach Drawing for All Levels at Waimea College in Richmond as part of their ACE programme which you can find by following this link.
And I also have a private painting class on Wednesday mornings in Nelson, contact me directly.
